College Visits in Action

Greater Than students aren’t just learning about college, they’re experiencing it firsthand.

Alder Elementary 4th graders strike a pose with Barney at Mt. Hood Community College.

Stepping Onto Campus and Into Possibility

This spring, students of all grades are visiting campuses including Mt. Hood Community College, Warner Pacific University, Portland State University, Oregon Health & Science University, Lewis & Clark College, and Linfield University.

They are walking through classrooms, exploring campus spaces, and participating in hands-on activities that bring college to life.

These experiences help students move from simply imagining their future to actively planning for it.

Welcome, Sheila!

We’re excited to welcome Sheila Flores as our new Student Success Specialist at Lincoln Street Elementary.

Sheila first connected with Greater Than while studying at Portland State University and working with students at Alder Elementary through our partnership with PSU’s MAPS program. Now, she returns in a new role, bringing her experience and passion for student success to our team.

We’re thrilled to have her supporting students and families this spring.

As the school year continues, students are preparing for important milestones, from grade-level promotions to high school graduation.

College visits will continue, and planning is already underway for summer programs such as our Senior Trip and Bookmobile.

Thank you for being part of the Greater Than community.

Together, we’re helping students explore new possibilities and take meaningful steps toward their futures.
